Texture Art Workshop in Delhi NCR: A Beginner's Guide to Layered Mixed-Media Canvas
Texture Art builds a canvas in layers. Instead of painting a picture, you press tissue paper and fabric scraps into acrylic paste, then add colour on top, so the surface has real physical depth. Because the result is abstract, there is no wrong way to do it, which makes it a good first art workshop for people who feel nervous about painting.
This guide explains how the Kraftykinni Texture Art workshop works: the materials, the steps, the time it takes and how groups in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida can book it.
What Is Texture Art?
Texture Art is a mixed-media painting technique where layers of materials, including tissue paper, acrylic paste, fabric scraps and paint, are built up on a canvas to create physical depth and dimension. The results are abstract and tactile, even for people who have never painted before.
Materials Provided
All materials are provided and included in the price, so participants do not need to bring anything:
- Canvas boards
- Acrylic paste
- Tissue paper
- Fabric scraps
- Acrylic colours
- Palette knives
- Brushes
How a Texture Art Session Works, Step by Step
The session runs for 1.5 to 2 hours. Shramita Govil, a Fevicryl Certified Artist, walks the group through each layer:
- Gather your materials. Everything is laid out at your station, with no prep needed.
- Apply the first texture layer. Use a palette knife to spread acrylic paste across the canvas in broad strokes. Uneven strokes add character.
- Add tissue and fabric layers. Tear tissue paper into irregular pieces and press them into the wet paste to make wrinkled, raised surfaces. Some areas are dense and others sparse, which builds contrast.
- Build depth with paint. Apply acrylic colours over the textured surface with a palette knife and brush. The colour settles differently on raised and recessed areas.
- Add finishing details. Refine with highlight colours, edge detailing or extra texture. Shramita helps you judge when the piece feels complete.
- Take your canvas home. The finished canvas is display-ready once dry.
Why Texture Art Suits Beginners
The process is abstract and exploratory, so there is no wrong outcome to worry about. Participants who feel intimidated by art often relax once they see the layers taking shape, and no prior painting experience is needed.
Every canvas is different. Because the process is abstract, no two participants end up with the same piece, which makes each one a personal keepsake.
