Block Printing Workshop in Delhi NCR: How a Session Works, What You Print and Booking
In a block printing workshop, each participant loads a carved wooden block with fabric colour and stamps it onto cloth, building a repeat pattern by hand. The rhythm of loading, pressing and lifting is relaxing, and the result is a fabric piece people actually use.
This guide explains how a Kraftykinni session runs, what you print, who books it and what booking involves in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. The full workshop page is Block Printing.
Materials Included
Kraftykinni supplies everything and sets it up at each workstation before the session begins: carved wooden blocks, fabric colours, printing pads and a fabric item to print on. Blocks come in traditional geometric, floral and paisley designs.
How a Block Printing Session Works
Sessions run for 1.5 to 2 hours and are guided by Shramita Govil, a Fevicryl Certified Artist:
- Choose a block and colours. Pick a geometric, floral or paisley block, and Shramita helps you choose a palette that suits the fabric.
- Load the block. Press it firmly and evenly onto the printing pad for an even coat of colour. Shramita demonstrates the right pressure and angle.
- Stamp the fabric. Press the inked block onto the fabric, hold for a moment and lift cleanly in one motion.
- Build the repeat pattern. Keep stamping in a grid or a freeform layout with consistent spacing. You can combine several blocks and colours.
- Heat-set the colour. Once the design is finished, the colour is heat-set so the fabric is washable and durable.
What You Take Home
Each participant takes home a block-printed fabric item, usually a tote bag, dupatta or fabric panel, in traditional or contemporary patterns. Because the colour is heat-set, the piece is washable and ready to use or wear.
Do You Need Experience?
No. The technique is straightforward: load the block, press firmly and lift cleanly. Shramita demonstrates first and then guides everyone through spacing, pattern repetition and colour combinations.
Who Books a Block Printing Workshop
It suits corporate cultural events, school heritage days, college fests and team-building sessions. Companies also book it as a wellness activity, because the stamping rhythm is calming. See corporate art workshops and school art workshops for group formats.
Private groups book it too. For a real example, read about a private block printing workshop in Delhi for a mother and daughter visiting from Israel.
